Gastropods. It has a large, conical, dextral shell that is black and white in color. Its common name is the West Indian Top Shell. The size range from 90-110 mm to 130 mm. The West Indian Top Shell inhabits rocky shores through out the greater West Indies, with the northern limit being Bermuda and recorded as far south as Venezuela. Landslak. Exoot/ingevoerde soort in Nederland. Tot 5 mm. Geelbruin, glimmend, iets doorschijnend. Huisje schijfvormig met tot 4,5 iets verhoogde beginwindingen en een diepe navel. Laatste winding iets samengedrukt en soms licht gekield. Sculptuur van onregelmatige fijne spiraallijntjes en groeilijnen. Op vochtige plaatsen in bossen (ook in naaldbos).
