West Indian Top Shell

Gastropods. It has a large, conical, dextral shell that is black and white in color. Its common name is the West Indian Top Shell. The size range from 90-110 mm to 130 mm. The West Indian Top Shell inhabits rocky shores through out the greater West Indies, with the northern limit being Bermuda and recorded as far south as Venezuela. Bos-glimslak

Landslak. Exoot/ingevoerde soort in Nederland. Tot 5 mm. Geelbruin, glimmend, iets doorschijnend. Huisje schijfvormig met tot 4,5 iets verhoogde beginwindingen en een diepe navel. Laatste winding iets samengedrukt en soms licht gekield. Sculptuur van onregelmatige fijne spiraallijntjes en groeilijnen. Op vochtige plaatsen in bossen (ook in naaldbos). Pink vase sponge

Sponges. Thick vases to thin inverted cones, sometimes becoming fans. Light gray with pinkish or bluish hues; surface spiny, especially on the rim of the atrium. Spicules are pointed oxea. Lees meer

Orange lumpy encrusting sponge

Sponges. Rather soft and fluffy orange to orange-yellow cushions. Surface conulose, rather transparent, with scatered and membranous oscules. Naturally shrunk specimens look less transparent and show tufts of spicules at the tip of conules. Lees meer

Star encrusting sponge

Sponges. This thin, encrusting sponge is distinguished by several canals that radiate in a starshaped pattern from small groups of pitted excurrent openings. These "stars" are well separated. Unlike several similar appearing sponges, the canals are occasionally branched, and do no intertwine or interconnect.  Lees meer
