Saltwater fish, Morays. It is serpentine in shape. Body is dark brown to nearly black, with interconnected series of yellow lines, forming a somewhat chain-like pattern.  In daytime hiding with its head sticking out and jaws opening and closing. At night it emerges and swims over the reef in search of small fish and crustaceans, especially crabs.

- Spotted Moray Eel Gymnothorax moringa.

Size: 30 to 60 cm, max 75 cm
Colour: Body is dark brown to nearly black, with interconnected series of yellow lines, forming a somewhat chain-like pattern. The irises are yellow.
Shape: Serpentine in shape.

In daytime hiding with its head sticking out and jaws opening and closing. At night it emerges and swims over the reef in search of food.
