Summary
Saltwater fish, Basslets. Inhabits coral reefs, usually in caves and
under ledges. In small groups with a dominant member that leads them in
defense of their plankton supplying territory.
To be confused with
- Blackcap Basslet Gramma melacara
Characteristics
Size: 2 to 5 cm, max 7,5 cm
Colour: bi-coloured, anterior half violet or purple and posterior half bright yellow.
Shape: small elongated body with long dorsal fin.
Habitat environment and ecology
Inhabits coral reefs, in small groups, usually in caves and under ledges.
Distribution range
BES-eilanden: St. Eustatius.
